The folks at O'Reilly recently published this gem !

From the book description:

This book is a comprehensive guide to the tips, techniques, secrets, standards, and methods of website optimization. From increasing site traffic to maximizing leads, from revving up responsiveness to increasing navigability, from prospect retention to closing more sales, the world of 21st century website optimization is explored, exemplified and explained.

Though I've just started readying it I'm already convinced it's a must have !

+1 for this being one of the most practical and motivating books I've read in a while. As ASP.NET developers transition towards MVC and cloud techniques, this book gives a great bedrock of ideas for fast and commercially relevant sites.

To what extent are the book's recommendations placed in the context of Asp.Net? I bought Steve Souders' book "High Performance Websites'" book and found it mainly concentrated on Apache and PHP.

I am also reading it and I agree with your comment. It has well thought samples and it provides all the basis to be introduced to web site optimization.
