So, the next step would be a podcatcher for Firefox OS with offline capabilities? Actually, I am still dreaming about something like that, albeit I am afraid I don’t have enough time and knowledge to do it. i was planning on making a podcast app for FirefoxOS before launch, but i found out that there is no way to download files from 3rd party domains, without explicit CORS crossdomain.xml permissions on every podcast site. that pretty much leaves a podcast app _impossible_, without tunneling all the media files through your app’s domain (costly and doesn’t scale).

i also found out that global XHR permissions are not even a priority for 3rd party apps in FirefoxOS 1.0? can that possibly be true?

i guess any app that want’s to talk to a 3rd party REST api (dropbox, evernote, …) is impossible in Firefox OS?!?
