Yesterday I announced and new project I’m starting( READ HERE )
Since last night 40 people have joined the private wiki to participate in the collaborative design.
“The Project” now has a name and a domain !
NETOOP – the .NET Object Oriented Portal
www.netoop.com (Is were it will run……)
One of the commenters to my blog post asked,
What guiding patterns will you be using, and what technologies?
Is this an ASP.NET Ajax w/Linq to SQL thing?
Of course it will be ASP.NET and use Microsoft SQL Server but the rest is for us to discuss and decide.
In response to another question – ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS ARE WELCOME.
One of the goals is for the end result to be ready to install, use, modify, and extend by ANY developer, so we NEED folks with all different experience levels.

No much about sports in that name I think, but anyway we’ll be learning a lot from this project.
Will we waiting for instructions. i’m really excited about this, i think we can learn many new techniques.
Gotcha
BTW, I created new accounts yesterday using the links you provided (wiki and forums), but I never got acknowledgment emails and still can’t login
Great initiative. I’m really looking forward to this. It shall help on improving my website which is in construction now
Looking forward to it, as a rookie in the field great learnings await for me
I’m really looking forward to this.
Forum won’t accept any password I enter to register, no matter how complicated. Wiki signup rejects CAPTCHA sequence every time. Needs some work buddy
Well "buddy" 150 other users were able to figure it out:)
While AnarchyRising could use some pointers in politeness, he does have a point with the password issues on the forum. My "standard" password formula is a mixture of upper and lower case letters plus numbers – gives me a way to generate unique passwords for every site without having to write them down. Unfortunately, the forum responds with a "Please pick a more complex password that includes punctuation (!?) or numbers.". I’m sure "150 other users were able to figure it out", but I still find it annoying to be told to add numbers to a password that already contains them.
Ian – I understand, but this is simply the default for YAF. (Which, ov course, I didn’t write.)
1. Do you have dates (timetable/project plan) for developing "NetOop" protal.
2. When will be the base framework available for the participants.
3. I have created Wiki account but haven’t received any email yet and it does not allow to log-in. Will same account work for Forums?
I think this is a amazing idea and im really looking forward to following along and maybe contributing to it as well.
As a self taught developer i use your videos to help me along.
Im particulary looking forward to the "Features, design decisions, code and test practices", as i dont have a degree (UK) in any computer related science i feel i have missed a very important step in learning common design practices, and fundamental steps in producing good scalable apps.
It will be nice to see how the pro’s do it.

Joe Stagner “Misfit Geek” has announced that he is starting up a community driven .NET OOP Portal based upon Sports. This is an excellent opportunity to engage yourself in what is sure to be a fun project and meet people (virtual that is)

So Sorry. It is not a dead link.
